Greenwood County Court House

Home of Fort Star near the town of Ninety-Six. Home of revolutionary war's first battle in South Carolina. Greenwood was named around 1824 for the plantation owner John McGehee. The county was formed in 1897 and was originally part of old Ninety-Six District.
